I am a basketball official from London England is it possible for any officials out there to inform me of the different types of shoes that are out there.

I am looking for an all black leather shoe, now I know of
Converse All Star Whistle, however are they comfortable ? At present I wear Nike Air Veangeance very comfortable but they are suede and not leather.
From this discussion board there are obviously different products out there can you tell me what they are, and where they are available from.
Furthermore I suffer with bone spurs & where orthotic insoles.

New Balance 608 hands down the best!!! And come in all different widths to accomodate orthotics.

I prefer the Nike air max there light, comfortable and very kind to the feet.

I wore the whistles this year for 50+ games, and they were great...although I don't have feet problems.

Moreover, I got them in patent leather...NO MORE SHINING!

Got lots of rave reviews for them.

I bought a black Etonic walker that I used for the past season and I liked them very much. I have worn almost all types over the years and I would reccommend you try these. They are very light , have good support and balance and have worn very well. I wouldn't be surprised if they last about 200 games.

For the... um, larger folk?

What about people with larger shoe sizes? I am 6'9" and wear a size 17 shoe. Anyone have info for a good officiating shoe in that range? To date, I've settled for shoes that weren't exactly up to par looks-wise, simply because there was no alternative.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

You should go to an outlet or contact a comapny directly. I think Nike will custom size any of their current styles for you. Of course they probably charge more, but you can't be too careful with your feet.

Nike Cross trainers.

I've been wearing the Cons Whistles for past two seasons. They are pretty good. They've held up well and keep the shine I like. I was just on http://www.eastbay.com and found an all black Nike cross trainer. The model is the xt. there is also the ASIII low which is also all black. I know some people have asked before about a nike shoe.
