Looks like Spock with the neck pinch. :)

Looks like they're trying to hook him up to the Matrix.

No call

I'm guessing there was no foul called (unless he was shooting).

Mark Padgett Wed May 18, 2005 05:18pm

A good no-call. Let 'em play, I say.

He's Bacq.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry over this one.

Maybe just a teesy-weensy bit over the top?

Of course, Mitch Albom's column ain't that much better either.

Hmm...I don't know. I've driven through Detroit, and I can't see many over-exaggerations in the article. Being a Bulls fan, I'm old enough to remember the Bad Boys, so I guess I've had a hard spot in my heart for Detroit (which sits right next to my hard spot for Ann Arbor as well).

I did like the comment about the frumpy dorks who wear their baseball caps backwards because the things don't come with instructions. I sat next to those people at an IL/MI basketball game once...;)

Lebatard is the author. It's actually a French name. Only in French, it's two words: Le batard. Anyone care to translate? :)

This Detroit team does not have the "idiot" factor of the old Bad Boys teams though. This current group might not be pretty, but as Mick said, they are a good "team"...key word being "team".

As a Bulls fan, I find this article funny. But, I have some interesting ties to Detroit as well. My girlfriend is from Detroit, and the current mayor is a frat brother of mine. With all that being said.....

Detroit still sucks as a city. :))

Your choice of words is quite disingenuous.
mick

Isn't that the same as saying his choice of words suck?

Mick would never say something like that.

I think he's saying Sean is full of sh1t.

Certain verbiage is suitable only for riding in trucks with close friends. This term is called "truck talk".

Words that rhyme with truck generally fall into that pickup bed.

OK Mick, I apologize. Will dig deeper into my vocab for better words.

Detroit is not in my top ten list for best cities visited. I wouldn't recommend it as a living destination to anyone.

No, b/c saying that wouldn't be correct. Whether the words are worthy of the the pickup truck-bed or not, you should say "his choice of words sucks". The verb applies to "choice" (singular subject) and not to "words" (plural object of the preposition). Therefore, the verb should be singular in number.

Thank you. Mr. (More) Annoying (Than Usual) Grammar Guy. :D
