I don't watch much NBA, but I did tonight. How do they deterimine which basket the teams are shooting at?

You can't tell by looking!? It's exactly the opposite of Fed and NCAA. It's shooting in front of their own bench in the first half, and away from their own bench in the second half.

I'm totally confused now, too! I thought it was opposite of NFHS/NCAA just as rainmaker does but this afternoon I was at game 4 of the Sonics/Spurs series and lo and behold both teams are shooting at the opposite basket in the first half and shooting on their own end in the second. Someone please shed some correct light on the situation.....

I believe the visitors have their choice but I was wrong once before. :)

Visitors choice...

visitors choice in the 1st half...it is usually the basket they shoot for pre-game warmups...

Visitor's choice. The team winning the jump will begin the 4th quarter with a backcourt endline throw-in. Same for the other team to start the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Okay, well so don't listen to me when I talk about NBA, okay? I haven't watched an NBA game in a year or two, so I guess I'd better keep my mouth shut! :o
