Does any one know how much does the AAU tournement pay to the referee? I know It may change from state to state but I would like to know more or less what the pay is.

It varies from tournament to tournament. We run a lot of AAU tournaments in this area. And the pay one weekend my be $30 a game and the the next weekend it's $22. It just depends on who organizes the event.

I've been paid $20 and $25 per game so far this weekend with games in 3 different tourneys. I ran into a buddy who was paid $40 per for games yesterday morining.....lucky him!

$30 per game at the tournament I was at this weekend.

I got $35/game for a Girls Tourney two weeks ago. That is fairly common in this part of Mass. -- although I have been paid a bit less and a bit more.

We work 3-person for everything 15 and under age group and up here in Northern VA. They usually do a contract with the board and then we might see anywhere between $25-$35 per game.

No - that's when they use 3-Chuck crews, so the players and the refs are about the same height. :p

No, that's not what I'm telling you. See the website that I posted earlier and you'll see that we only do 10U through 18U. And yes, we only do 3-man.

Which association are you with in Northern VA? I'm with Cardinal.

It's pretty much NF. No need to confuse things by trying to use different floor coverages, etc. We go with what we're familiar with.

The next time I see 3-man for AAU will also be my first. I'm in Columbus, OH and we make $20-$25 per.

26 Year Gap Wed Apr 20, 2005 05:59pm

The next AAU tournament pays $25 per game.

BktBallRef Wed Apr 20, 2005 09:26pm

I've worked 23 games over the past couple of weekends. I don't think I've lost a pound. :D :(

That's some pretty good vacation money at $25. per game. Counting last w/e and this, I'll do 22 games and I've already started to increase my food consumption so I can maintain my weight. :-)
