I am looking for spring and/or summer opportunities to improve my game and am new to the southern california area. I have found this to be a good time to talk with the players and coaches about their thoughts on the just concluded season as well as to concentrate on individual aspects of my game. Any help?

Are you looking to ref or to chat? If you want work with quality players, AAU is just starting up and there are lots of club sponsored tournaments in addition to the AAU qualifiers. Once qualifiers and club tournaments wind down, there are always summer leagues. Check out this website for a database of girls tournaments if you do girls ball:

Database allows searches by state, so you can look at what's up in California. Lets you know the ages involved if you want to limit yourself to certain age groups as well. It is mainly for coaches to find tournaments, but it gives contact info and you can probably find out how your local tourneys are getting their officials or get a list of tournaments to request jobs from your assigners.
