A while back someone posted they were going in for some type of achilles surgery. I can't remember who is was but I for for a consult tomorrow.
Any idea who is was? outcome? what type of work was it? Thanks, D |

I had something called an achilles debridement on March 3. I was on crutches for 12 days. I'm in a walking boot now (for 3 more weeks) and then I start rehab to get it up to full strength. The "hot spot" on my achilles tendon is gone. The constant pain that I had over the past two years is gone. I can walk fine without the boot, but I'll wear it for 3 more weeks just in case. I'm very excited and optimistic for next season. If you have more questions, just e-mail me at kevtrout at northwest dot net. (I'm not a doctor but I did stay at a Holiday Express last season) Z |
I had achilles surgery as well...
But mine was a ruptured achilles. It thought it would be a good idea to race a 100 meter dash against a bunch of 14 year olds. 40 year olds should not do this. It snapped like a rubber band. My foot just kind of hung there for a while, (like it had fallen asleep, very weird)and I had surgery a few days later. In a cast for 8 weeks, and still rehabbing it, 6 months later.
Hope your diagnosis is better than mine was! |
I had a rupture on my other achilles a few years ago. That sucked and the recovery time was way too long. This achilles debridement surgery (and my recovery) is a walk in the park compared to that.

Z,
Had the doc explain your surgery to me. You must have been pretty messed up. Luckily I am no where near that point. Therapy and meds. However, I am able to start running again. |
