Good discussion on PTI last night about where Pat Summitt's 879 wins rate with respect to the men's game.

You could argue that in the 30+ years she has been coaching, NCAA Women's basketball did not have the same number of quality teams that the men's program had.

The other side is that 879 is 879 and they beat the teams they were "supposed" to beat.

No matter how you slice it, it will be an incredible accomplishment.

Congrats to Pat Summitt

It's a big deal, but the detractors are right in that even now, the parity isn't the same as it is in the men's game. I'd rank it up there with Rupp and Wooden, though. I think it's harder to get those kind of numbers now in the men's game than it used to be.
