In the closing minute of the UCONN/NC State game there were 2, count 'em 2 critical no calls:

1. Illegal screen by NC State player which allowed the dribbler to get free & put in a 3 pointer (oops, since I'm a fan maybe I should say hit the trey). This was a no brainer, team mate stepped into the defender from behind at the top of the key.

2. Huge push off by NC State player to drive & score 2 points on an easy 10 footer. I mean, a huge push off, the kind of thing you would see called in 6th grade rec league games - 1 on 1 deep in the T's area the guy put a forearm into the defender's chest to start his drive. He might as well have just put the ball on the floor & cold-cocked the defender. Sigh....

OK, I'm done.

Well they did call an absolutely terrible palming call on NC State late when it looked funny, but the guy did not have the ball, in fact it appeared that a UConn player tipped it.

I didn't see the tip but I did see the palming call above the 3 pt line by the lead.

In a recent unscientific poll Americans were asked "what do you think of JR's post?"

Here are the responses:

This fellow also responded, he's only been in America for a week or so:

After seeing the replay, I didn't agree with the call either. I thought he just fumbled it.

Oh yeah, wonderful. If Duke wins, we get to hear everybody tell us what a great coach ol' whineya$$ is. If NC wins, we get to watch ol' Roy cry. Great choice.

Of course, if NC loses, we still get to see ol' Roy cry.

If Duke loses, maybe we can start that "bias" thread up again. Heeheeheeheehee.......

All I know is the refs cost the Hawkeyes the game Thursday. Worst officiating I ever missed.
