Texas Tech/Gonzaga opening toss
Bob Donato tosses and th ball is tapped OOB.
J.D. Collins rules another jumpball, as both jumpers knocked the ball OOB. The clock had ticked down to 19:56. Tony Greene came in and had Donato reset the game clock to 20:00. The jump ball and the subsequent play was legal. It was a leal play that was part of the game. The ball was live, it was legally tapped, the clock starts and the ball goes OOB. Why reset the clock? |
Maybe they determined it was a bad toss???? It looked like a bad toss on TV. The ball was kind coming down behind the Gonzaga player when they tapped it.
I believe if you determin a bad toss you reset the clock. Is that right??? |
It wasn't ruled a bad toss. I replayed it three times. Collins waited until the ball went OOB before he whistle and signalled jump ball.

I was just reaching for an explanation.... I saw it but didn't pay much attention. I didn't even realize they had reset the clock.

Rejump due to not knowing who knocked it out of bounds maybe?
