I always have problems figureing out if a play is Basket Interfierence or Goal Tending. Any Help?

Goaltending is only on a shot in downward flight.

Read defintions in Rule 4-6/4-22

Add up all the answers & this is what you have:

BI is touching the ball while the ball is in the cylinder (dunks excepted); touching the ball or basket while it's on or in the basket; touching the ball while reaching through the basket; pulling down a moveable basket & it contacts the ball while still moving. Every one of these has to do with the basket, applies whether or not a try is in progress.

GT is touching the ball on it's way down only during a try that has a chance to go in EXCEPT when any of the BI violations apply. In that case you have BI.
