I was surfing around ESPN and I found that contest we did last year. Seeing how no one has set anything up yet, I thought I'd show some initiative and create the group.
Like last year, the group is called "3 Blind Mice" The password is "whackenator" http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/frontpage Hopefully this will get the same great response as last year. Good Luck!! |
I'm in! :)

I'm all for it. Nice picture on the home page.

I'm in as well. :D
I'm also in charge of our office pool (usually 12-15 entries total). Now this brings up the question - does everyone use the same picks no matter what pool they're in, or do they pick differently for each pool entry? |
I'm in. I look forward to filling my annual role as the world's worst prognosticator. It's my way of making others feel better about themselves.

Edit: I think I misunderstood your question, looking it over it makes more sense now. Here's a better answer: It all depends on how sure you are with your picks. If you're certain they are right, then why not use them in every pool you enter. [Edited by ref18 on Mar 8th, 2005 at 02:14 PM] |

I'm in. Hope you don't mind a football guy giving it a shot.

Should be fun, good luck to all
|
We've got 22 so far. I'd like to see the final number of participants over 100, so lets sign up and see how badly we can predict the NCAA Tournament ;)

Do you remember how many were in last year? |
I think it was over 50, but how far over I'm not sure.

Tournament
As the defending champ you can count me in.
Time for me to retain that title again. |
Bump :)
|
We've got 36, let's at least get it up over 50.
|
Let's go guys, the bracket is released tomorrow and we've only got 38 people. Let's all get out and sign up. :)
|
Bump...
Still space and the brackets are released today. So come on and sign up. |
ref18, chill out. It'll fill up. It always does. People will get involved after the brackets come out and are posted on the site.

I think they're coming out on ESPN at 6 for the mens tournament. So after that.
|
I'm in. I didn't do well last year. I'm sure I will make a strong comeback with the Big XII.
|
I just finished my whole online bracket filling out! Whew, I filled out 11 different brackets! Ohhhh what fun! ;)

|
I'm in and I make 50 total in the group.
|
I just joined (5:15 pm EST) to make the 52nd entry.
How many people are picking an all ACC final? |
acc? you mean a team from the acc made it to the tournament? HHhhhmmmmm, that bias select committee is at it again. Oh well, at least they won't last long. Go Big XII.
|
Looks like someone over at ESPN is pretty smart - they already have Chuck's entry at the bottom of the list! :p

I'm sure someone else has seen something like this. I'm in a pool that has a "Toilet Bowl Award". It's given to last place finisher. Prize: Your money back.

Apology accepted, NOW SOUND OFF LIKE YOU GOT A PAIR!!! |
According to the national bracket, the #8Texas/#9Nevada game is the toughest to pick. It is 51.0/49.0 right now (5 hours before lock time).
#10 NC State, #9 Pitt, and #9 Miss St. are the only lower seeded teams being predicted to win. NC State by a whopping 61.0/39.0 margin. |
4-4 so far. . .God bless UW-M!!!

Utah-UTEP could be interesting. |
I'm 8-0.
I only announce that because this will be my only chance to crow before history repeats itself and I take my rightful place at the bottom of the standings. Z |

I took a hit today. How many people got the Kansas game wrong? ;)

Oh, well. Bottom of the standings. 21-11 after round one. |
Some guy named Mark Smith nailed it.
He got ALL 32 first round games correct. Including Bucknell and Vermont. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! That's awesome. :) |
Hey ESPN, would you please UPDATE THE STANDINGS!!!!!!
|
Yeah - I'd talk some smack, except that I had 'Cuse and Kansas in the final 8. Oh well - I'm alone in first for now!
|
That's what hurts, having a Final 4 or Elite 8 team lose in the first round.
|
TEXAS TECH BABY !!!!!
|
If I should be so incredibly fortunate as to remain on top in our humble little group's portion of this incredible contest, this would be among the most amazing upsets of the whole tournament. (Arizona is the key for me) The bad news is that Kansas got knocked out early, the good news is that I originally had them in the final 4, and went back and changed it after listening to some "tips" on ESPN.
Whoever it was talking, (Digger Phelps, maybe?) he also mentioned Alabama as a sleeper, and I adjusted picks there, I think. A lot to be said for this coin flipping thing. |
So much for Alabama being a sleeper! ;) Way to go UW-Mil!!
|
Didn't pick the Kansas upset, but I had Wisconsin beating them in the 2nd round anyway. My Austin bracket is all shot, I had Oklahoma in the Final Four. 3rd place, and in striking distance. :)

Thanks for posting the results... I was afraid to look! I'll take 22nd to start off with, it sure was a great tournament to watch!!!

I made 6th! Glad to see I'm above the Elias Line.

I didn't participate in this group, but in another one on ESPN. Next year, I'd advise going to Yahoo. ESPN's was absolutely terrible. Hard to register for, updated solely, if at all, and no scenario generator. I did Yahoo last year and it was a thousand times better. If you have a Yahoo address, you just need to create a group or join one. If you don't, sign up is still easier.
