ref5678 I was wondering if their was any rule phrohibiting the use of signs to tell players which play to run. For example loud gym coach holds up a sign and the players run that play. Is this legal or would it be unsportsmanlike.
JRutledge There was a team that played in the State Final Tournament and the coach used signs to call out their plays. I cannot remember the team, but it has been used at our highest level and it was made clear then that was very legal. Peace
ChrisSportsFan [tongue in cheek] hopefully Coach didn't have the entire play drawn out on the sign as the opponent coald get the heads up on what the play is.
som44 Just saw this a couple of nights ago in a state semi-final up here in NH. The coach would hold up a colored sign to indicate the type of defense he wanted his team to play.
