That was a great game! Has anyone ever noticed that very seldom offesive charges are called? There were a couple near the end of the Game.

As a percentage of all calls made, yes, they are rare.

There were some flops at the end. I didn't see any that should have been called and weren't, against either team.

Tony,
I think IREFU2 was calling [like the announcer did] that long pass where the defender moved under the receiving player (deep in the lane) and the announcer said no time or ditsnce was required.

If you watched the replay of that incident, the pass receiver was airborne (not a lot, but in the air nevertheless) when the defender slid in - great call. In Packer's defense, the airborne factor would not have been obvious when it happened - and was not even REALLY obvious on the replay.

Canuck is correct. Reddick gained position AFTER May had jumped to catch the pass. A definite block.

A more obvious flop was on a late possession when Manuel drove the lane, stopped, and Reddick flopped. Larry Rose was at C and waved to Reddick to "get up."

As for Packer, I can't say anything in his defense. He needs to stop analyzing calls because he doesn't have a ****ing clue.

Well in my defences (Smile), I guess time and distance isnt a factor, but it was a nice game and well managed. I know Larry Rose and he is a great official.

canuckrefguy,
Packer is out there to disparage the officials.
Defending him is not a goal of mine.

1st - It was a very well managed game. Great calls and no calls on block/charges and flops.

2nd - Growing up an IU fan, I would hate when Packer got to do an Indiana game. He is a hack that has very little to add to the college game. At least Dickie V and Raftery say something valid at least once a quarter. I agree with mick on this one - He doesn't have a ****ing clue!! - IMHO
