Seems like every time I pull my gear out before a game, it's staticy and clings to my skin when I put it on. Looks terrible. Anybody got a solution for this?
|
No, but I also experience this problem sometimes. Usually the clinging stops after I've made a few trips down the court.

1) Don't dry it so long in the dryer
2) Static Guard (tm) |
Martha Stewart just got out. Maybe she can help.:D

What if we don't use the dryer?? I hang dry all my officiating gear.

Try deodorant. Heeheeheeheehee...... Sorry about that. Just couldn't help myself.:D |
Spray static guard (or hair spray if you are cheap) on the pants and also on your socks underneath. Have to attack it from both sides.

I don't dry them at all. I wash them in cold water, put them on a drying rack and I've never had a static problem. It's worth a shot. The static problem just might also be the undershirt you're wearing instead of the uniform.
If that doesn't work, maybe you just have one of those "magentic" personalities! LOL |
I don't dry any of my stuff, except my socks (with a fabric softener sheet).
I have used static guard, but it only works half the time. |
As someone noted, once you start perspiring, the static goes away, so it's just the first few minutes that matter. What I do is before I put on my uniform, I turn the pants (I don't have a problme with the shirt) inside out and spray the entire surface lightly with hair spray. Works great.

Just use a dryer sheet on them after they come out. Or take one with you and wipe it on the inside of your shirt and pants before you get dressed. That takes care of most of it.
