I just got the email and I'm thinking about their shoes, I already own three of the micromesh shirts(one gray, 2 striped) otherwise I'd pick one up along with the shoes. Good recball shirt, I prefer polyester for HS games.

I got the e-mail earlier today. Then I called them, I now have an order of 4 pairs of shoes coming my way.

It's funny, cause the last time I bought the patent leather shoes, it was when the Converse were on sale for $54.00

I guess I just have a sense for the deals :D:D:D

BktBallRef Fri Feb 25, 2005 10:26pm

How about a link?

Gracias!

ref18 Fri Feb 25, 2005 10:46pm

When I called earlier today, they said they only had limited waist sizes. It turns out my size was part of that group :). Now I have a new pair of pants on the way, Yay!!!:D

BktBallRef Fri Feb 25, 2005 11:04pm

YOU GUYS HAVE GOT TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!!

I was going to buy 3 shirts for $45. Here's the shipping!!!

Your shipping options:

USPS
(PRIORITY) $16.12
FedEx
(Ground Home Delivery) $17.09
USPS
(EXPRESS) $26.05
FedEx
(Standard Overnight ) $50.10

Sorry but that's BULL$HIT!!

All three shirts could be shipped FEDEX Next Day Air for 15 bucks!

Needles to say, I didn't process the order.

JosephG678 Fri Feb 25, 2005 11:36pm

Just send them USPS priority! It will take 2-3 days...unless you are in a rush! They do have some nice deals, bought two shirts myself --> thinking about the shoes.

Sorry. I'm not spending $16 in shipping to save $5 each on three shirts. That's no savings. I doesn't cost $5 to ship Priority Mail. $16 is frickin' ridiculous!

JosephG678 Fri Feb 25, 2005 11:51pm

Ok, I gotcha...Didn't realize that shipping was priority mail...BTW-where do they get these shipping charges from anyway? Is it possible they make money off inflated shipping costs?

Yes, exactly. They lower the merchandise prices, call it a sale, then raise the shipping and "handling." It's an old game, one that I'm not playing.

JosephG678 Sat Feb 26, 2005 12:03am

Not that it matters...

But the shirts were $10 off! But yes, the shipping here is really inflated...FYI-www.Underarmour.com has all their gear for sale there in all sizes and colors. Its nice because sometimes at the stores they don't have exactly what I am looking for.

BktBallRef Sat Feb 26, 2005 02:03am

I usually order an XXL. They were an extra $6. That's unheard of. They're usually a couple of bucks more.

$21 + $10 S&H = $31 for one shirt is no bargain.

tjones1 Sat Feb 26, 2005 02:33am

I'm not buying into it either.

Snake~eyes Sat Feb 26, 2005 04:25am

Let's all send emails complaining about the shipping! DO IT. ;)

oc Sat Feb 26, 2005 07:24am

official's choice has poor service? What a shocker.

If they didn't pay IAABO to get a monopoly of IAABO products they wouldn't be in business long.

OC,

Your view is a bit ironic.

You'd think that if OC has a fan on OF, it's oc. :D :D

OUTRAGEOUS SHIPPING!

I saw your moving sale and thought I'd pick up a few items. Then I calculated shipping and figured out your game. What complete and total bull$hit! $10 to ship one shirt via USPS Priority Mail!?! $16 to ship 3 shirts!?!

You must have found a lot of stupid people out there to make this work successfully but not me. I'll never order from you again. Further, I'm posting this on every officiating discussion board I can find on the Internet!

bob jenkins Sat Feb 26, 2005 11:05am

I ordered from this (or a similar) sale last year. I ordered both pants and shirts.

I found the shirts uncomfortable, and one of them ripped at the collar after about the third wearing. The pants are much thinner / cheaper than the other brand (brand "H") that I usually wear. I won't order again.

Further, OC has not responded to several requests to remove my name from their mailing list, including my not responding to a specific email they sent syaing "we're updating our mailing list. Click here to remian on the list or we'll remove you."

A couple months ago I complained about buying a 3-pack of whistles would cost something like $21 ($11 for the whistles and $10 shipping). After I did this about 3 days later their shipping costs went down to $6. So, I'm not quite sure why they are trying this? The better question would be: how many people have fell for it?

I was going to order some things from their shop and online shipping would be $10.00. I called in my order and they have it to me for $6.00.

Well with that, it sounds like their plan is to hope people just click on the WWW instead of calling.

Why do you think they don't have a 1-800 number?? It's not because they're easy to get. I know a few people with them. It's because how many people are going to waste money calling long distance, when you can do it over e-mail for free?? Whenever I deal with them, I always call. And so far it's worked out pretty good. I've heard from other officials who say it's nearly impossible to get a hold of them by e-mail. So I spent the $1.00 on a 10 minute phone call to make sure that they understood what I wanted, and how I wanted it. Don't take the easy way out. Give them a call, you'll be much more satisfied if you do.

Remember, if you know who the e-mail's from you can ignore it, but when it's a phone call, it's in your best interests to take it.

refnrev Sat Feb 26, 2005 11:39pm

I've never dealt with this company, but I haven't heard anything good. I'm with BBallRef. $6.00 extra for an XXL is RIDICULOUS! $2 bucks maybe -- and some places and some sport uniforms nothing extra at all. For B'ball I'll just keep getting my Cliff Keen shirts from other sources.

That's not my point. My point is: it looks like they want people to order from their website and pay the high shipping costs. That's what I was trying to get at.

Does anyoneknow if their shoes run true to size? I know that their pants are tight for their sizes and don't have tapered legs.

Their pants run tight??? CRAP!!!!

I dunno about the shoes. I know the old Converse patents ran true to size, but I don't know about these new ones.

Don't know but I can tell you that the price goes up $5 for every size you go up. :(

I think I'm going towards buying the Reebox's now.

ref18 Sun Feb 27, 2005 08:10pm

Personally I don't like the look of the Reeboks. I like the look of the smoth patent leather better. I guess I'm lucky that I don't need to get all the sizes that cost extra, but for the sizes that don't cost extra their products seem to be pretty good.

Snake~eyes Sun Feb 27, 2005 08:54pm

When I added size 11s to the shopping cart they didn't cost $5 extra?

I'm pretty sure he was joking.

I just found this site about a week ago, haven't had time to check out all their products and add them to my list yet. Also another one is: http://www.sos-sports.com
Currently (yes, I know we are in the Basketball forum), this is the cheapest place I have found to get micro-mesh umpire shirts.
