Hello guys - I haven't been around a lot this season, but my season just ended, so I'm back. (If you'd heard me chipping at officials on a couple occasions this season, you might not welcome me back, but I'm here all the same!)
I just tried to do a search and received the message: "Sorry. The search function has been disabled by the administrator." My knee-jerk reaction was to search for a post that explained why, but.... Why no more search? |
Some BS about bandwidth. It's been over a year and it's still not back up. :(

You could try doing a Google search of this site. It wouldn't be as convenient as using a built-in site search, but it should work.

Google Search
Just to review...
To search this site using Google, in the search field on Google one types the word "site" followed by a colon followed by http://www.officialforum.com followed by a space followed by the keyword(s) for which one wants to search. For example: site:www.officialforum.com blarge Note: Actually, the keyword(s) can come before or after the "site:www.officialforum.com". |
Even with the "advanced" Google search technique, your results are pretty unsatisfactory. I keep bringing this up, every 3 or 4 months, but nothing has happened yet. It's not enough to make me leave the site obviously (no comment from you, Dan!), but it's darn inconvenient.

I agree it is inconvenient. However, like BktBallRef said, it does eat up a lot of bandwidth. So in order to keep the site running as smoothly as it does and have this function would probably require more bandwidth and probably a membership fee to pay for the additional bandwidth.
