What decade are you officiating in? Do you have a big black collar on your shirt as well? 😀

Most are wearing pleated.

I wear the Sans-Belt type beltless slacks from Honig's.

just to make things crazy, what is the difference between the side pockets or the "western style" pockets that are upwards? also, any info on undergarments (underarmour or McDavid) or poly vs micromesh is appreciated.

Side pockets are on the side, western are on the front. Undergarments: I wear the McDavid compression shorts (A80 from Honig's) and the McDavid V-neck sleeveless shirt (A59 from Honig's). Some people prefer the compression tights. Whatever you get make sure they are black. Some people prefer the shirt to be white, but I say if it isn't your striped shirt, it should be black! 🙂 Happy shopping.

A lot of pants with side pockets have white lining that shows when you run. The western pockets are less likely to show. ALso side pockets can bunch up inside and make you look lumpy. Or in my case, lumpier. And if you are the kind that keeps stuff in your pockets, the stuff stays in better with western pockets.

I remember a game I filled in for three years ago where the guy I worked with had a hockey top (collar and long sleeves) on with sweat pants and white tennis shoes. If you all can believe it this was a boys varsity game. Where or who got this clown from I'll never know and not sure I want to. This forum won't allow me to type what I said to the AD after the game.

A few questions about what people are wearing, regardless of level.

Pants - pleated/no pleats, belt loops/no belt loops, flex belt, any other possibilities
Shirt - micromesh or polyester, those in IAABO - do you wear the patch?
Shoes - patent leather or not
Jacket - zipper/snap button, w or w/o IAABO logo

The only thing I know we all have to wear that is the same is the black socks!

Seriously though, any recommendations or preferences...Deciding myself what to order for next season...I currently wear the non-pleated looped bants w/belt, IAABO polyester shirt, regular converse 3/4 black sneakers...

Thanks.
Joe

pants:no pleats, beltless...
shirt:mesh! its cooler and more comfortable
shoes:all black, keep'em shined up
Jacket:zipper, no snap button

I wear pleats and have never worn a belt, even back in the late 1980s. Poly mostly, but I did buy a mesh shirt this season. Patent shoes. CCA-style jacket from Honig's (no logo). Gerry Davis ultimate sox, McDavid black full-length tights, a black McDavid compression v-neck T-shirt rounds out the ensemble.

Also have some shirts with flags on the left sleeve.

Anybody ever have a partner ref with a Yarmulke on? I had it happen not to long ago. I gave him a hard time by telling him that I didn't remember seeing it the book. He was pretty cool though so it was all good.

I use to wear navy blue coulottes in the old blue and white NAGWS days.

it seems everyone is wearing beltless, so i am going to go that route...is there any reason for pleats vs. no pleats? can't think of any...also, anyone rate mcdavid versus underarmour? and where else aside from official's choice can i buy the IAABO shirt e/ patch? thanks.

I wear beltless with pleats, I think they look better and they are a little roomier when you run. As for underarmor/mcdavid debate, I go with what ever is cheapest, go to kmart and check out their nobrand stuff. I believe Official's choice is the only one licensed to sell IAABO stuff.

Including the orange armbands?

In FED, women basketball officials have the option of wearing a black coulotte skirt, long white knee-high socks, and white officiating shoes.
In my 25 years, I've only seen one woman wear that particular garb.
It looked pretty silly.
Hey Juulie, think we should try this? 😉

Anyone know who's got the best prices for the Sansabelt brand pleated pants?? I don't like the look of the Honig's pleated pants I have, and was looking to try the Sansabelts.
