What a great night.
I tried to log in as ref18, but after so many unsuccessful tries, I decided to give up. (His password is not tv60, for example.)
Had a BV double header. 3 T's first game, 1 in the second.
Game #1
The HC, a wanderer, is questioning an OB call by my P (L, opposite), along the endline. I thought it was the right call, but naturally I don't know 100%. I'm T, table side, and start to listen to the HC. He's chripin' pretty loudly and this league is high on sportsmanship. I give him the, "Thank you, coach." He's still going on, then the AC gets into it. I give both the stop sign, and each a "that's enough coach." They're both still barking. WHACK. Total time gone by: about 8 seconds. They're both quiet now.
Later in the game, my P, L in transition, makes a great PC call. I see the player that committed the foul get angry and try to step in there to save him. I jog closer and give him a "walk away son." He ignores me, walks down and stares down my P and gives a two arm gesture (P was reporting the PC). WHACK. I then tell the team captain, who's on the court, to deal with the player, since he's still agitated. I turn around to report the T and hear, from the kid "this is truckin' retarded." (-tr, +f) I don't even blow my whistle. Give the heave-ho signal.
Game #2
Similar sitch, OB call near the (same) endline, I'm T table side again. This time I thought it was close, but P makes the call. Player objects. And keeps on objecting by saying (out loud of course), "these refs are on crack." WHACK.
I should have let my P handle this one though - it was his call. Oh well. I thought I was on a roll.
