Our Association is handing out the District/Regional/State Assignments Monday night.

Looking forward to it.
I remember hearing a veteran official say, "It's all about the postseason".
He was implying that he liked the postseason a heck of a lot more than the regular season.
I thought it was a little arrogant at first...but, now I can kind of see what he was talking about.

Rainmaker...
I am heading out in a few minutes to drive to your great state of Oregon. Spending my income tax return...buying a new race bike for my son. $5599...sheesh!
(Maybe I am getting a little stressed lately...) ;)

One of the best years of my life was living in Seattle, and driving to Portland twice a month. On a clear day you could see Mt. Rainier, Mt. St Helens, Mt. Adams. and Mt Hood. Picture post card country.

Shhhhhhh. No one needs to know how beautiful it is here. It rains a lot. Typhoons. Horrible place to live. Don't anyone move here. We don't need Seattle style traffic. :)

People in Oregon don't tan...they rust!

Last year in Oregon, 39 people fell off their bicycles...and drowned!

It is all about the playoffs. It does not get any bigger than that. One team moves on. The losing team goes home and players will probably play their last game ever. The intensity rises. The memories last longer. The pressure is higher. You gotta love it man.

Peace

Can't wait. It's a blast. Packed gyms, high intensity, good partners. It makes up for the late January blowout games we all get with 100 people in attendance.

Every game I ref, regardless of level, is the "game of the night" in my book, but I cannot deny that my game gets elevated for districts. I have always enjoyed officiating the district games even more than the state tournaments.

RookieDude,

I have to sit this year (local assoc rule) because I went to state two years in a row (IMHO, it's a great rule by the way to let as many experience state as possible). I plan on watching a day of 3A or 4A. E-mail me at kevtrout at northwest dot net and let me know what your name is so I can introduce myself.

I might be on crutches because I'm getting achilles surgery right after my season is done.
