Unfortunately I saw the "cross and toss" last night. After my game I went and watched 3 friends of mine (and very good officials) work a V game. Home was behind and in a fouling position. Visitors threw a long pass and since bodies were moving quickly, Home's common foul was pretty hard. The C was right on the call, had it immediately, but on his way down, V1 threw a punch and connected to H1's eye. C didn't hesitate to toss him. Another home player had to be restrained by the T No players or coaches left the bench which was good. All in all the crew did a great job of diffusing a tough situation. It was great to see how they handled it since luckily it has never come up in one of my games.
