Almost Always Right Tue Feb 01, 2005 11:46am

I see people cutting and pasting(at least it looks that way to me) actual rules.
I have been on the nfhs.org website, among others, and I can't find a place that lists rules in this manner.
It would be a lot easier to quote directly with a cut and paste as opposed to having to type from the paperback rule book.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

For me, ...I type 'em.
When I do that, I own a little more of that rule. ;)

LOL, Smitty. Yer bad! :D

As Shakespeare said:

1) <i>"Talkers are not good doers"</i>

2) <i>"The saying is true, the empty vessel makes the loudest sound"</i>

3) <i>"Words pay no debts"</i>

and finally--(4) <i>"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers"</i>

Shakespeare was a sharp dude. I did a few games with him back in the day.

if any of them start out like this

The "Visting team" shall heretofore be knows as A or V, the "Home Team" shall heretofore be known as B or H, the A coach will be recognized as party of the first part.....

I am skipping them.....

I am cut to the quick by your criticism. I may cry. I had never heard that people didn't like lawyers. When did that start? Since we are prosecutors, most people don't even count us as lawyers. Sorry, I have reached the allowable letter count for non-lawyer readers and must qui

He must have realized we're not paying him by the word.

Lawyers. One rung above IRS agents. Luckily I added "ref" to my resume so now more people can like me. Oh wait... :)

At least you have a sense of humor...gotta respect that...

:)

totalnewbie Tue Feb 01, 2005 01:53pm

Hey, if you cant laugh at yourself, everyone else will be doing it anyway so you might as well join in the fun.

bigzilla Tue Feb 01, 2005 02:04pm

The "must qui" was meant to show I had run over my letter limit...hardy har har

If you have to explain it, it's not funny. Most of us got it the first time.

NCAA rulebook is available as a PDF - I copy and paste from that a lot - especially when the NCAA ruling is same as the NFHS.

Doesn't the paste accumulate on the monitor? Must make it hard to read.

And I just thought I needed new glasses . . .

Probably explains all the electric shocks I've been getting, too.

No need to pull out the CD. Simply explore the CD, and copy and paste these to files to your hard drive. Name a folder "rules" or whatever you want to.

Rule Book
bkrbXX.hlp
bkrbXX.cnt
bkrb03.gid

Case Book
bkcbXX.hlp
bkcbXX.cnt
bkrbXX.gid

S&I Book
bkillXX.hlp
bkillXX.cnt

XX equals the year, ie. bkrb03.hlp is the rule book for 2003.

Send a shortcut to your desktop for each .hlp file.

The paste isn't as much of a problem as the white-out. I make a lot of typos.
