Last night I had a freshman girls game then a JV girls. At halftime the coach came up to inform us the other team was playing a girl that had just played in the freshman game.
Is a player able to play both games in the same night? Is that the officials call or game management/AD? On a side note, The coach who informed me was losing at halftime.

In our state, we are told that we just ref the players that are in the book and we are not responsible for any eligibility issues. Even if we knew for a fact that a player played the entire JV game, we would let them play in the entire V game if that is what the coach elected to do. It's an AD/State issue in Washington State and officials stay out of it.

Dudly,
This has nothing to do with the officials in any way. This is an issue for your state and their procedures. In my state a player can work so many quarters in a year. I have no idea what that limit is, but it is something the officials do not enforce or monitor in any way. Unless your state for some reason has you monitor this, I would not even get involved. I have seen player play in both games. Check with your local state association. But usually this is not an official's issue. Peace

Thanks Snaqwells,
That was our take on it. I told the coach we are there to officiate a game not decide who can or cannot play. I directed him to GM. GM was very good at dealing with the multiple personalities and over inflated egos. In the end they decided to play on, forfiet the game if necessary and call CIF the next day. The coach wanted the ejections. I just didn't see that as part of my jurisdiction. I have read through the rule book and can't find any reference to this. Am I missing it somewhere.
