Had a game where the guy going up for the shot was fouled hard so we called an intentional foul. He made the basket.

Do you give him the 1 shot plus another 2 and the ball or just the 2 and the ball?

Thanks,

Dave

At the spot closest to where he was fouled, NOT the mid-court line.

This is one scenario where a player can score 5 points on one play.

A made 3FG with an INT foul called.

Anybody for the other(s)?

now if he misses the 3 point goal and gets intentionally fouled, he gets 3 shots and the ball. right??

JugglingReferee Fri Jan 21, 2005 11:21pm

That he does.

A1 drains a three point try and is fouled twice at the same time by B1 and B2. Score the goal and shoot one free throw for each foul. Chance for 5 points which is why I always cringe when some announcer starts doing the simple math for me in a 5 point game he tells me "you know we have a 2 possession game here" What about a multiple foul I want to ask??

Multiple foul

That's an ugly word. Erase it from your vocaulary.

JugglingReferee Sat Jan 22, 2005 12:31am

ripcord51: you are correct.

BBR: you are correct too. :D

I always wonder why people tell 7...6...5...4...3...2 when there's 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3 seconds left.

It's because they see the 2.xx and think there's only 2 seconds left. You still have almost another second!

It's actually a phrase consisting of TWO words...

...but who's counting?

M&M Guy Sat Jan 22, 2005 11:34am

Uh oh...what if word gets out we officials can't count?

It's bad when I'm in the stands (very rare), because the crowd will shout out "FOUR" just a hair after I've begun to shout "FIVE."

Why college students can't figure it out . . .

You can also have a possible 5 pt. play without an intentional foul.
3pt. shot is in the air...shooter is fouled after the shot and while on the ground...bucket goes...shooter's team is in the bonus.
