GV game, A1 on the free throw line, shoots, ball rolls around rim and comes to rest balancing against the backboard on the flange area. Counting playing days and all, I think I've only seen this happen 3 or 4 times.

For the times it does happen,do we put the ball back in play usinf the AP arrow?

Yup, use the AP arrow.

I actually had this situation exactly as described in a game last Thursday. I was lead, so I didn't have to call anything, but my partner did everything right.

Only use AP if it is the final attempt. If the shooter has another shot coming, s/he still gets that shot.

this was the final shot and that's exactly what we did. i just don't know if i've ever seen a freethrow go up there so soft that it didn't bounce somewhere.

In a game before mine a couple of weeks ago I saw the ball get lodged between the ring and the backboard on the front end of a 1&1. Never seen that happen. Went to A/P.
