I had a couple of questions from a game I watched tonight.
Team A is getting blown out. A1 fouls out. Coach A has a sub but she was benched by the coach for committing an intentional foul earlier. A played with four players and then three after another player fouled out. Since A has an eligible player on the bench, does the coach have to sub or can he play with 4 if he wants? Second question. Can you sub or call a timeout after a made basket even if the clock is running? |
By the book, if he has a player that can play, he's suppose to play them. However, he was obviously sitting them for a good reason. So I would of asked the coach if he wanted to sub and if he said no (because of the Int Foul) then I would of allowed him to play with 4 and then 3.
Sub no, unless a timeout is called or have some form of a whistle. Dead ball, which means all subs can come in. [Edited by tjones1 on Jan 11th, 2005 at 10:42 PM] |
If the player is eligible and able to play, she must play. But if the coach lies and tells you she's injured, there's not much you can do about it.
