Developing story being reported out of Texas High School. A story appeared in newspaper starting with a High School coach being demoted mid season back to JV because of forfeiting a game. Appears that the coach’s team was way ahead early but other team was rapidly catching up. Less than a minuet left and as his team was holding slim (2 point?) lead. Intense situation. Next the Referee called a PC charging on said coach's team giving opponent chance to close the game with a win. Players and crowd erupts on the call. Technical’s ensue. Coach calls his team over and at his direction team they walk off the floor. Coach reports he’s fearful of a riot from the reaction of the crowd to the call. He sys he feared for the saftey of himself and of his players. Emotions were so high, etc. (I didn't hear who was home or visitor) Referee’s follow procedure – call’s team back, no response report a 2-0 forfiet. Coach gets a demotion. He blames referee’s.
