I hate the Mets.
|
Next thing you know Ryan is going to come out of retirement reminiscent of the 69 Mets. Anybody seen Koosman, Seaver or Gentry?
|
Who cares?
So.
Peace |
BushRef, please feel free to ignore us while we have a little fun.
Iow, go away. |
Jeff, obviously you cared enough to add your own 2 cents. We thank you for that. Bushie, maybe you don't realize this but if you do not click the mouse on the link - you know, the one that says "WARNING!! ANNUAL OFF TOPIC BASEBALL THREAD!!!" - then you don't have to read what's inside. Give it a try. Gordon, I mostly agree, although the Mets did have a pretty big part in that whole Buckner fiasco. T-man, last I heard Ryan's selling aspirin or viagra or something like that on TV and Seaver thinks he's Red Barber. Anyway, still no announcement but the media's treating it like it's a done deal. |
And the Mariners are close to signing Richie Sexson...just what we need...God forbid that they go get some pitchers. I think I'm starting to dislike the M's...
|
A better word would be "bored."

As a Cubs fan, I hope the Mets kept enough money to get Sammy Sosa. I'd love to see that guy in a different uniform. Keep in mind that if you blow your chance at the playoffs, he'll leave early.
|
Heard on the radio tonight that Pedro confirms that he's agreed to the Mets' deal. The Mets are holding off on announcing it until Pedro passes his physical.
I'm sorry to see him go, he was an amazing force for 2 or 3 years there. Truly amazing to watch. He's not that pitcher anymore, but I'd still like to have him. I thought the Sox offer was fair (basically the same Schilling's). If he could get a better one from the Mets, I guess that's his prerogative; but I think they overpaid for him. Plus, the Mets' recent record with big-ticket free-agent pitchers hasn't been great. |

Should be interesting to see if Pedro's "inside-pitching" stats remain the same. It's always a l'il bit harder to throw at somebody's head when you gotta bat yourself the next inning. |

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseb...on-trade_x.htm You lose Pedro and get Wells. We get Johnson. Fair's fair. |
The Braves get Tim Hudson, who is probably better than either or those two other guys, and much younger.
