I was watching a college game on t.v. last night. In team A's front court A1 threw a cross court pass from above the top of the key to the other side. B1 broke on the pass and deflected the ball with his right hand (ball side hand), ran after it caught it with both hands then began to dribble down court for uncontested layup. All of this is in one continuous motion. The anouncer said this should have been a double dribble. I think that a dribble starts with intentionally bouncing the ball to the floor. This would be the same as a fumble then picking it up and dribbling. Just my opinion.

Thanks

shont

The #1 rule for watching a game, and enjoying it at the same time, is to use your "mute" button.

I guess it would depend if he had "control or possesion" of the ball. Did he start the dribble? The officials may have just let it go to keep the game flowing.

Shont, the answer to your query is simple, and you should get used to variations of this response.

You are correct, the announcer was wrong.
