Can anyone tell me if there is really a difference between a 'charge' and a 'player control foul?' Is the difference because the person with a ball commits the player control foul?

Also, I know there is a signal for "charge" (same as "block") but I've never really seen it used as a 'charge'..

I appreciate the advice for this "new ref."

A player control foul common foul committed by a player in control of the ball.

You can have a player control foul that's not a charge. One example is pushing off with the forearm.

The only signal used when a player control foul occurs is the hand behind the head. Now if you have a player without the ball charging into another player for whatever reason, you would use the pushing signal.
