Okay, this is a trick question, to which I will post the answer in a day or two, if no one gets it right. I will give a few hints along the way, and when I give the answer, I'll give a rule book reference number.

Play: My partner is trail, I'm lead. The shot goes up, I'm watching the post players closely, my partner blows the whistle and calls "Over-the-back!!" I'm quite sure you will all agree it was a good call. The question is, what happened?

Perhaps the ball went "over the backboard?"

Someone asked, "Where is the neck located?"?

Your partner is secretly either a coach or a fan! In either case, over the back, reaching in, and 3 seconds should be called as frequently as possible. Oh, and that's a travel!

Bktballref - think you got it right, and now we see there really is an over the back call.

I'm with BktBallRef. Ball goes over the top of the back board.

BktBallRef--
Of course, you're right. the rules reference is 7-1-2c, also see Note. The actual wording is in the note.

This is not a particularly clever trick question, but it tickled my funny bone when he called over the back and I realized that it wasn't a groaner, it was a oner!
