Nevadaref:

When I came online this morning at 08:05amEST, you must have had made six or seven posts already this morning. You must not have been able to sleep last night. I wish I had stock in the company that makes the coffee you drink. Have a good week.

Yes, I was up at 4:00 AM today.
I rise around 5 AM normally, but just woke up early today and decided to check the board before doing anything else. When one does finance on the West coast, it makes for some early starts, but also there are early ends to the days, which allows some basketball officiating.

The bad news is that I am going to have to put in some extra hours at the beginning of this week, since I'm going to cut my work week short. As you are certainly aware as a fellow soccer ref, the HS season is winding down in many parts of the country that have an actual winter. I was R on our regional final here this past Saturday and have been selected to work the State tournament this Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas.

I echo the comments from JR. Nice job on getting a State Final Assignment.

Peace

Yes...Nevada...congrats on the State Tournament assignment!

I too saw your postings early this morning, as I was up all night working the night shift. (Time to hit the sack in a few minutes.)

Also, thanks for your views on the injured/bleeding player procedures concerning time-outs.

I still think I am reading to much into question #89...having to do with replacing an injured/bleeding player before granting the time-out.
My point was...you can't replace an injured/bleeding player if he/she is going to stay in the game.
Again, I'm probably just reading to much into the question.

Nevada -- As a soccer parent, I know how tough reffing soccer can be. Congratulations! Enjoy the Final, and then come here and brag. We love to hear it!

Thanks all, you are too kind.
I am certainly proud to represent our association at State and also quite pleased with the assignments I have received this postseason. I didn't think that I would go to State since I got the R on the 4A boys regional final.
This is the first time that I have been selected for State as a soccer official. I consider myself very fortunate.
I just learned my assignments today:
(all games are DSC the 3-man system)
R on the first 3A boys semi, AR on second 3A boys semi, and AR on the 4A boys final.
I let you know how it goes.

Let me add my congratulations. I am a "former" soccer ref at the HS level (stopped in 2001 because of old knees). The year before I stopped I was lucky enough to be a linesman (weren't called "assist referees" at that time) on a class AAA (largest) girls semi-final and thoroughly enjoyed it.
