Let's hope we soon see a followup on these women being arrested & charged with aggravated battery.

What can we learn from this?

One...
Try to leave the gym with your partner.

Two...
If there is a potential "situation" have a school official escort you to your car.

Three...
If possible, bring a cell phone with you to your games.

Yes yes & yes. Also, if there's a security or game management person around let him take care of booting the guy out. Just point out the person you want to vanish & stay uninvolved during the process.

A long time ago I had to kick a parent out of a gym during one of these grade school games. Pretty typical, lots of yelling and finger pointing..."I'll be waiting for you outside" blah blah blah...well he was waiting for me outside except his coat, with his carkeys, were still waiting for him inside.

I could never figure out why he didn't try & retrieve them but he didn't and when we met again (as he promised) in the parking lot he looked very, very cold. Too cold, apparently, to follow through with the rest of his promises.

He's lucky that he cooled off a little.

This is a typical example of game management woefully failing in its duties. Game management should have recognized and taken care of the problem during the first game, rather than turning a blind eye and allowing it to fester. ANY profanity in the crowd at a grade school game should earn a fan the boot immediately. Where was the referee's partner when this happened? Why didn't game management make any sort of an effort to ensure that the referee got to her car safely? Lots of problems here from the game management end that are typical for most games and changes need to be made.

It's absalutely uncalled for and as she said in the article, sportsmanship seems to be disappearing (coaches, players and fans) Why would the coach not recognize that his fans were out of hand? If that was a Mom and Sister of a player... how embarassing.

The article referenced an incident where a parent was choking a ref at a football game. Maybe that's a new tactice to try to influence calls for his team. ((Coach- my constant abuse on the ref isn't getting me anywhere, Billy, tell you Dad to go hurt the ref,, I'm sure that will get us some calls.)
