I have to point out the hypocrisy of the NFHS in telling the officials to enforce the bench decorum rule (2001-02 Points of Emphasis #1A), and then issuing the following "communication technique" (posted 10/1/04)on its website:
Behavior/Question/Comment from Coach
Coach is very animated and gesturing.

Official’s Response
“Coach, I’m going to talk with you and answer your questions, but you must put your arms down/stop the gesturing.”
“Coach, please put your arms down. Now, what’s your question?”

This directly contradicts 10-4-1e:
Bench personnel shall not commit an unsporting foul. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of conduct such as objecting to an official's decision by rising from the bench or using gestures.

Memo to whomever wrote the 3-man tableside "advice" above: If the coach is "very animated and gesturing." The proper response from the official is a technical foul.

And what is with all the "both ways" language:
“We’re calling it on both ends.”
“Coach, we are watching for that on both ends of the court.”
“Coach, I understand what you’re saying, however, on that play, I didn’t see it that way. I’ll keep an eye for it on both ends.”

Was this written by a coach? Maybe a fanboy?

And to conclude with:
Behavior/Question/Comment from Coach
Coach just won’t let it go.

Official’s Response
“I’ve heard enough and that’s your warning.”

Well, that certainly won't be my response!
