This week I worked with a guy who worked with Dave last week and filed this report.

A1 goes in for layup. Ball is cleanly blocked OOB by B1. A1 complains he was fouled. Dave tells him, "Let's take a vote." He asks B1 if he fouled A1. B1 replies, "No."

"OK, that's 2 to 1 against. The foul stands.", says Dave. A1 says it isn't fair. Dave replies, "You want a recount? Move to Florida."

I love it when other guys spread the legend of Dave around.

Mark, does Dave realize how much of a legend he is
becoming because of your postings? Do these players
understand or appreciate how lucky they are to have the
quick wit of Dave. To other poster's! There is only 1 DAVE.

Yes, there is only one Dave. But I think of him as a role model and inspiration for all of us. If you've followed his exploits from the beginning, you would know he (almost) always saves his retorts for rec games, not official HS games. When he does sanctioned games, he is very professional and a credit to this avocation. This shows me he has the proper perspective on the real meaning of kids sports - it's only a game, but what happens in a "real" game could affect a kid's scholarship, and a coach's job.

I post these just for enjoyment, and I've never encouraged anyone to be sarcastic in a sanctioned game.

Having said that, remember rec games are just that - go crazy my friends - and don't forget to post your own "Daves" :)
