As we speek, I am getting ready for my 3 games tonight. I have done several games before and was nervious and tonight I am nervious also. Do any of you get nervious before games even after you have done some before?

I still get nervous for games after some time without refing, like now, with basketball just starting up. Also, before big games, I still get nervous. For every game I'm a little nervous before, but it's not as bad as when I first started. I find that once the ball goes up on the jump, I'm not nervous anymore.

brandan89,
Nervous may not be the word I would choose, but if I am not excited about going out onto the floor, then I am not as ready as I could be.

Heck, I was nervous before my last camp game this summer.

I wouldn't say I get nervous I just kind of have the butterflies, it goes away after my first whistle. :)

I'm not sure I'd call it nervous, sometimes anxious, sometimes excited. It goes away as the ball goes up. If I'm lucky enough to get a pre-game with my partner, that usually gives me something to focus on and keeps the anxiety at bay.

Good Game.. Basically all I did was walk up and down the court, and say dont run blue walk with the ball. If Red was coming down with the ball I would say stay in the piant blue, get out of the pait red. Stuff like that, no fouls, tell them to dribble the ball. Had a good time. There was this man giving me 10 kinds of hell, but the president said if he does it tommrow kick his a** out. Got 5 games tommrow or maybee 7 hey, 10.00 a game. Thanks

I do right up until tip off. Then I get to work. No time to think about being nervous.

No it's not mine I don't remember the author/speaker.

I get excited about working games, but not nervous anymore. Officiating becomes like riding a bike after awhile. That comes with experience and confidence.

Peace

I only get nervous when both sides have guns, its not a problem when one team's fans have guns.

That must've been why that soccer ref in Africa had a gun on him. :D
