At a recent Ute Conference football game between Copper Hills and Cyprus, one of the young players was ejected from the game for "unsportsmanlike conduct" - a call that didn't sit well with one of the parents, who stormed onto the field, yelling at officials.
He was warned to leave or the team would be penalized and the police would be notified. He continued ranting until the team was penalized. He returned to his seat but continued the rampage after the game. When officials warned that if he didn't stop they would "call the cops," Greg Pollei allegedly flashed his Salt Lake County sheriff's deputy badge and said: "I am the cops."
Salt Lake County Sheriff Aaron Kennard "doesn't condone that type of behavior and we are looking into it internally. It is a personnel matter," said department spokeswoman Sgt. Rosie Rivera.
