I need some help.. What is an example of a handcheck could someone give me a example or give me a case or rule number it would help.

Jurassic Referee Sun Jul 25, 2004 07:26am

Handchecking:
1) NFHS rule 10-6-1
2) Case book play 10-6-1SitF
3) 2003/04 Points of Emphasis on page 70 of rule book- 2A

After you read these, you may have more specific questions.

Except for the back court part, sounds like a legal tackle.

What difference does it make whether it's in the FC or BC?

The evaluator that told me this, just said that any contact in the back court in unnecessary and should be penalized as soon as it happens. He really didn't put much emphasis on any frontcourt situation when explaining this. I'd probably be a little more lax on calling the handchecks this quickly in the front court.

BktBallRef Sun Jul 25, 2004 09:50pm

If contact is a foul in the BC, the same contact is a foul in the FC. There is no difference.

I'm not arguing that, this is just what the evaluator told me and its how I adjusted my game to accomadate that point.

Where do some of these evaluators come up with this Sh$*?
