Chuck, Isn't this camp more of an NCAA evaluation camp rather than a camp geared to high school officials- i.e. it was run by D1 assignors from the north-east like Mickey Crowley and Edgar Cartotto.? If that's correct, do you think that they offer less or more in the teaching end- vis-a-vis tips that would actually help you at all levels- or was it more "observation" versus "teaching"? Iow, what do you think that they concentrate on more at this types of camps vs. the standard camp geared towards newer, upcoming varsity high school officials and more experienced hs officials looking to hone their game? Do the evaluators kinda take for granted that the skills of any camper attending is pretty advanced, or are there some campers there that are maybe behind the bulk of the other campers when it comes to experience and knowledge?

I also wanna hear about Dan's T-fest. Seven T's in 2 games? Is that normal or abnormal for this type of camp?

It's an excellent camp that I would recommend to anyone. The 7 T's are about me, not the camp.

Dan, I know you are a very experienced and capable official(had to say that-he's a Yankees' fan :D). What I was envisioning (perhaps wrongfully) was a scenario where you ran into some players/coaches who just tried to push the limits too much. Just from my personal experience, I've been in some situations that were just O-G-L-Y, and all of the game management skills in the world couldn't help me out. Sometimes, they just plain and simple don't wanna listen to you. The other situation that you can get into, im my own experience also, is the situation where you get paired up with a fairly weak or very inexperienced partner, and you have to be the bad guy for the sake of team unity. This just sounded like maybe one of those to me- 'cause I know from your past posts that you don't go looking for T's, but you won't take excessive crap from anyone either.

Just kinda wondering if other officials had run into situations like this, and what they ended up doing.

Was the beer cold?
