I'm reviewing, getting ready for camp in two weeks.

What is the signal "after" the delayed violation during a free throw.

I know that the delayed signal is your arm straight out, but after the free throw, what is the signal? Is it an up in the air?

I have a chart fo the signals, but it is of the basic signals.

Are you talking about a delay or a 10 second count? Because if all you are talking about a delay, there is not subscribed mechanic for this. You have to report the delay to the table and let everyone know who it was on. Not much else you are suppose to do.

Peace

maybe I gave it the wrong name.

during a free throw, a lane violation by the opponent. What is the signal for the violation after the shot. During the shot, at the time of the violation you signal by your arm straight out away from the body...

Neither. She's asking about a delayed violation. FT shooter has the ball, but the defender steps in early. Arm goes straight out to the side.

When (if) the shot misses, you simply put an open hand up for the violation and whistle.

If you verbalize the violation, you should probably just say, "Violation. Stepped in early."

Signal 31. If the shot misses, signal 2 to make sure that the clock doesn't start. Then verbalize.

signal 31, I would assume you are referring to a numbered chart... which I do not have... but I believe I know the mechanics..

thank you.

The signal chart that I'm referring to is the one in the back of the NFHS rule book. If you don't have a rule book, I think that the chart may be on the NFHS web site- below. Just check under Basketball rules.
