I mentioned in another post that I'm at a remote spot in Utah on a guard deployment. (Thank God for base libraries.)
Today, while at the PX (they even send us Air Force guys to Army bases occasionally) I noticed they are selling Fox40s. No lanyards, just the whistles. Interesting. |
How much? lol I might have to take a trip to the PX

Where are you at in Utah? West Desert area?
Good Luck with the deployment.... ever get to Salt lake City??? |
Snaqwells, I didn't know you are in the Air Force. I'm in the DC area. Where are you stationed?
|
Tomegun. I'm actually in the Air National Guard, based in Des Moines, Iowa. (for now)
Kelvin. Dugway Proving Grounds. We flew into SLC and stayed the night there before driving to Dugway. Snake-eyes, $3.95, with no sales tax. I'm getting a couple of them. |
Let me know if you want to get out of Dugway... I live in SL -- we can hook you up with a barbecue or maybe we can get you on a basketball floor someplace!
I cant imagine they would keep you locked up out there all the time... |

I dont know about you guys, but since i have been refereeing, we have been sold the Fox40's as just whistles. No lanyards. Although if we search hard enough we would find them (rarely though) being sold with the lanyards.

Black&White,
From what I've seen, usually the place that sells the whistles will also sell the smitty. That's not the case here at the PX, which surprises me. They must be selling them to be used for scaring away the coyotes. |
