Haven't been to Joe's camp but he used to go to Dale Kelley's camps. Joe has a remarkable story. He worked HS ball for a couple of years, NCAA for 2 or 3 years and was in the NBA by his 6th year officiating. I believe he's been in the NBA for 16 or 17 years now.

Yeah, and what's up with DeRosa having 2 camps on the same weekend? I'm going to the one at Rio Grande, but I wish he would have had them on different weekends.
I think I'm going to "Coast to Coast" camp next summer.

Joe's camps are good training camps. I know just about all of his clinicians personally. An official who attends Joe's camp will learn a lot.

Is the website for registration to the one at Kent State. He doesn't have a website for the one at Rio. You can contact his office. As for the camp, its a training camp that we make you a better official. Joe does assign for 3 college (AMC, Jr. College and community college) leagues. I've been for several years and it's a great weekend. There normally is someone from the NBA at the camp but it's not really an NBA camp. He teaches HS and college mechanics with some NBA philosphy, especially on call slectivity. |
