This past Memorial day weekend I worked some games at an AAU tournament. I had a team from Creswell HS in Oregon. (from google search: 33390 E Nieblock Ln, Creswell, OR 97426) I was very impressed with their fundamental play. I was just wondering if anyone on here from Oregon works their games and knows how they do in their local league.

You're joking about never heard of them, right? They are just a little south of Eugene, probably 2A or 3A. They've got one of the best run Dairy Queen outlets in the country!

Are we talking boys' ball here? I've never heard of the girls' team as being anything spectacular.

So that's what Mark Cuban is doing in the off-season. . .

Nevada --

My husband informs me that Luke Jackson went to Creswell. So I guess their boys' team is good some years, at least!

Yes, this is boys basketball and according to the internet their school enrollment is 399. They played in the HS-1000 division. Which was reserved for team made up of players from the same high school with total enrollment under 1000. Not a peep out of their two coaches and wonderful play, especially the fast break.

Not a peep?, they must have been winning.

Creswell

Creswell is generally very good most of the time. The coaches make sure that they are always strong on the fundamentals. They take advantage of others mistakes. Haven't seen them in a few years, but they used to trap the dribble every where in the front court.

Yes, they played a match-up zone and some man, and would double and trap on the wings.

When I lived in Oregon from '98 to 2000 I did their JV games, boys and girls, then stayed to watch their varsity games, including Luke. They were the same back then, as you described in the tournament you just worked.
