Last night I reffed a 7&8 grade game in a small town close to were I live. The guy that I reffed with was the worst homer ref I have ever seen. Just a few examples of certain things,(besides being out of position and poor machanics): I am the trail, there is a steal I become lead on the fast break, I feel that I got in good position and the kid missed the layup(shot it way to hard) the visting team had a player running along side but NO contact, I here a whistle blow and look to see what he has. A foul on the shot and he was still back at the opposite free throw line in the middle of the court. I just kidda rolled my eyes. There were a couple other fouls, of course they were on the visiting team and on their best player, he called when he was way out of position and I was right on the play.

The question that I have is how to answer the coach when he asked me the question? "How can you let him call that when you were right on top of the play?"

I just calmly said that he saw something I didn't see.

Is there anything else that you can do?
