Who has some info on when and not to call a "T"

db: If its an atempt to gain an advantage, alter a shot or if its done out of frustration, are the times I'll call it. I won't call it if its done on a follow-through on an attempted blocked shot, or if the player is trying to regain their balance or avoid injury to them or someone else. In one game my partner rang up a kid for slapping the board,he was beaten on a fast break and went up slapped the board after the ball had already gone off the glass and through the basket, he then cried about how he inadvertantly touched the glass. (the whole basket shook for 30 seconds)

Then why did your partner call a T?

It's a T if while a try or tap is in flight or is touching the backboard or is in the basket or in the cylinder above the basket, a player intentionally slaps or strikes the backboard or causes the ring to vibrate.

BktBallRef,

It's a "T" in that situation for unsportsmanlike conduct. Same as banging the ball off the wall/ceiling/fan after a play.
