Question

Here is what happened at my game tonight. My partner called a holding foul on a girl which was a good call but the girl voiced her disgust with the call and recieved a T from my partner. This is were I am really not sure if I was right or wrong. The foul was the sixth team foul the T became the seventh team foul. Do you shoot a bonus and the T or just the T?

We just shot the two free throws for the T and gave the team the ball out.

Were we right or do I need to stand corrected?

IMHO, i think you were right would just shoot the 2 shots from the technical and give the ball out. The technical is added to the team fouls like you did, however i wouldn't shoot any free throw resulting from the bonus situation.

My theory is that you would shoot the 't' and continue the game like the 't' never happened.

keep smiling

"Administer" the fouls in the order they occured.

(1) Common foul, team's sixth -- no shots
(2) Technical foul -- shoot the two and give the ball at the division line. Add the foul to the team's total.

There is a specific Fed case on this (and if I had my books handy, I cite it for you.)

Thumbs up

I think you nailed the call.
Since the hold was the sixth foul the bonus is not in affect yet. The "T" made you reach the limit but it was after the common foul.
Two free throws for the "T" and throw-in from midcourt opposite the table for the offended team.

Question One More

Now, what if the holding foul were the 7th foul and the tech was #8. I think then you clear the lane and administer the one & one, followed by the two shots and throw-in for the tech.

Yes and Yes

Original Scenario...

"Administer" the fouls in the order they occured.

(1) Common foul, team's sixth -- no shots
(2) Technical foul -- shoot the two and give the ball at the division line. Add the foul to the team's total.

Tom Cook Situation...

Holding foul = 7th foul; "T" is #8. Add the foul to the team's total.

Clear the lane and "administer" the 1 & 1, followed by the 2 shots and throw-in at the division line for the "T".
