If a coach goes to the table and requests a time=out for what she thinks is a correctable error, and then it turns out that there was no error, or the error is not correctable, does she get charged a time-out?

Thanks. Just plain missed it.

Yup.

It's a charged full (60-sec) timeout. But, if the team has none left, you can charge them with a thirty.

BTW, has anyone ever seen a coach actually do this?

Actually do what? Ask for a correctable error? Find out it's not correctable?

Ask for a CE over at the scorer's table.

Well, yea. But what's your point? Oh, I see. The coach yells, and tries to get the ref to call it, so that if it isn't correctable there's no cost? I see that a lot more than the "go to the table" thing.

I'm just asking because I've never seen the coach go to the table, and rarely see them yell out about anything correctable.

Juulie - the rule also applies to male coaches. ;)

BTW - my wife got a job as a "mystery shopper". It combines her two favorite activities - shopping and criticizing people. :p
