No, but they had a big crowd at the Pahk for "rally night" last night.

Great day! I guess Manny got back from his vacation just in time. Fun game. Tomorrow will tell the tale of Boston's post-season. If Pedro is solid. . .

It doesn't hurt that the Yankees got shut out at home!

Deja vu all over again. Lost the first one last year too. A mere bag-o-shells though, my dear Watson. But you do have gloating rights for the next day. Use them wisely and well.

Btw, I know they're on the left coast, and that the 10:00pm start out there is really 7:00pm- but...... couldn't they switch the games around so that the Sox started at 4:00pm est or so? Let some of the young un's in New England watch their favorite team lose? Let 'em get used to what life is really like?

In fact, according to Fox, they've lost the openers in the last 4 post-season series (including last night). They didn't do too bad last year. . .

And I'm not gloating. Just enjoying.

I think that this thread is the Engergizer Bunny in disguise.

It'll slow down in about 3 weeks.

Depends. If the Yankees win, we might go all winter. If the UNTHINKABLE happens, the entire thread will be deleted immediately.

Ouch. Blown save by Mariano. 62 post-season appearances, and only 3 blown saves. Pretty amazing. But I'm glad he did it tonight.

A little too early being glad. At least everything worked out the way it should. Glad that it was Jeter rather than Posada tagging from 3rd.

Oh, contraire! I'm still glad that he blew the save b/c it caused the Yankee bullpen (and the Twins', too, for that matter) to work an extra 3 innings. I hope the series goes 5 games and the next three all go 12 innings, too. :)

I agree that it was good for the Yankees that it was Jeter on third. But if Posada had been there, don't you think they would've pinch-run for him as soon as he got on base? I mean, he's the winning run. Torre would've had to put some speed on base once Posada reached. I would think.

Chuck, did you see the story in the Boston Globe this morning? Apparently Manny has gone back to the Dominican for his fall vacation.
I saw him taking BP in Anaheim last night. I get it. You're yankin' my chain. That's what I get for trusting an old Yankee-loving, Vioxx-popping codger!! :p

After all these years, I'm amazed when you believe ANYTHING that I say. :D

Btw, is it true what Dan told me? Did you really win a contest and you're gonna be at the opening playoff game at Fenway?

Yeah, I heard Chuck won some contest to go to the game, but I'm not really sure of all the details.
