I know the announcers didn't have a clue -- problem was, I don't either Why wasn't it BI?

I didn't see the play (damn regional coverage) - description, perhaps?

Washington shot, ball hit the backboard, then the front inside of the rim, hit the backboard again, and then a Washington player reached up and sort of guided it in. It looked clear to me that it was in the cylinder AND touching the rim when the player contacted it. But I don't know what to look for, or if the rule is different in NCAA. So I just don't know how to judge what I thought I saw.

Then it's BI.

As to contact in the cylinder, the rule is the same in NCAA and NF.

Well, it sure looked like a textbook to me, and the UAB coach thought so too, so I must be right!

DJ -- did you see it?

I didn't think it was touching the rim, but it was over the cylinder. But the TV camera view is always better for that than the one from the floor. I'm a husky fan so great call. Didn't help enough though.
