Travel Signal?

I caught the last 30 seconds of the VT-Iowa women's game, Iowa scored, Virginia Tech is bringing the ball upcourt, and the trail was running his hands almost like the substitution timeout signal (giving the travel signal but just with the fingers). Did anyone see this? Did anyone know what this was for?

Possibly answering the shot clock operator as to weather or not to keep running the shot clock or something? maybe the crew had pregamed this signal to mean something?

This was addressed in a previous thread. The "travel" signal using two fingers indicates a coach is requesting a timeout for the purpose of making a substitution only. The timeout is charged, but play resumes once the sub enters the game.

Some officials also use this mechanic to signal that the crew should still rotate.
