Was this a TV game? Were any of you at this game by chance?

What an idiot...but pretty cool comment from Coach Williams about the officials...don't hear things like that from big-time D-1 coaches very often.

I'm trying to figure out why you would need to bring a gun into a college basketball game?

My guess is that he forgot he was carrying it. What I'm trying to figure out is how it happened. A loaded gun isn't going to accidentally discharge without a round in the chamber, and there's no reason to have a round chambered here. Pure carelessness.

When I first started reading the article, I thought the police officer who got shot, was also one of the officials of the game. Carying a gun while calling a game, sort of like Lesile Neilson in Naked Gun.

I heard the guy was a rent-a-cop, a deputy from Mayberry. Shame...it was his only bullet, too.

Williams can get pretty intense during the games, but everbody says that he is a pretty good guy. I've never heard of him making negative comments about officiating, but I have heard him say some pretty good things.
